don't let the holidays derail you.

I plan my clients ahead for the school holiday juggle, so two weeks of chaos does not derail their progress. The best strategy is setting yourself up in advance. So here are my meal prep options, & my trusted quickfire reaches for the nights I'm absolutely not mastercheffing.

The cards work exactly like the recipes in the MBB app: tap one, pick your swaps, & the macros update themselves.

what's on these holidays.

Here's some inspo for the days you need cover, cafes with playgrounds, coffee, & ways to get everyone moving... Filter it down to what you need.

03 · two minutes for you

take a hot minute.

The holidays ask a lot of your nervous system. This is a two minute physiological sigh practice: breathe in through your nose, take a little sip of extra air at the top, then let one long exhale go. The sip re-opens the tiny air sacs in your lungs, & the long exhale is the clearest signal your body understands that it is safe to come down a gear. 2 minutes, whenever you feel your sanity is on the brink.

the science, if you want it

Your lungs hold around 500 million tiny air sacs, what's called alveoli. Under stress your breathing goes shallow, and some of them deflate like little balloons. The sip of air at the top pops them back open, so every breath does its job better.

The long exhale does the second half of the job. The vagus nerve, your body's built-in brake, taps on during the exhale. You're not thinking your way calm, you are speaking the language of the body.

Your body already does it on its own: you sigh roughly every five minutes without noticing, and it's the double-breath hiccup kids do after crying. You are hacking your state using the most effective tool you have: breath.
